Photochemical Assessment Monitoring Stations (PAMS) Definition: Monitoring sites mandated by the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments and operated by individual states to provide for enhanced monitoring of ozone (O3), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and volatile organic compounds (VOC) in order to obtain more comprehensive and representative data regarding ozone air pollution.
